This family of versatile quick-release camera mounts has become the industry standard for airborne, automotive, field and laboratory applications. The QD-100 and QD-200 are adjustable in azimuth and elevation and their height is only 1.8" and 2.4" inches respectively when elevation is set at zero degrees. The payload capacity of the QD-100 mount is 15 pounds and up to 30 pounds for the QD-200 in a Hi-G environment. Greater payloads can be handled under less severe conditions. Companion Model DT-5 & DT-5W Quick-Release dovetail plates mate with the mounts. |
In recent years structural integrity of the adjustable mounts has been significantly improved to meet very high vibration g-forces encountered with high-performance military flight-test aircraft. The cradle and receivers are now machined from 2024-T3511 aluminum plate. For additional strength the cradle's slot width is reduced from 1.0" to .625". These and other improvements lead to certification by the US Navy as the only approved camera mount for F-14 and F-18 flight test aircraft. |

This
is a special application mount designed for use on tracking mounts and
remote controlled precision pedestals and similar applications.
It provides very accurate azimuth and elevation boresight
adjustments of ±2.5°. A
key feature is virtually no movement of the AZ/EL alignment or boresight
as each axis is locked. This
is an important consideration when telephoto lenses of 500mm or greater
are used, as traditional devices tend to move the AZ/EL adjustments as
mechanisms are locked. Maximum
nominal payload capacity is 50-pounds for this mount depending upon
shock and vibration environments. This
design can also be extended for larger and heaver payloads. A stainless steel QD-5 mount is pictured on this model and it
can be supplied with or without quick-release mounts.

The 8416B is a heavy-duty aluminum mount designed to support and adjust large camera protective enclosures and other instruments in azimuth and elevation axes. Typical applications are hazardous rocket motor static test stands, long duration full-scale booster testing and launch facilities for spacecraft, missiles and satellites. This mount was originally designed in 1963 for NASA's Saturn II battleship test stand at Rocketdyne's Santa Susana Field Laboratory. It has been in continuous use at Cape Canaveral, Vandenberg AFB and similar facilities since that time. VIC has recently incorporated several design changes to improve the corrosion resistance of this uniaue product. |

When locked and secured into position, the 8416B will withstand static loads of 7000 pounds pressure and 4200 pounds pull without damage. With the elevation bolts loosened, 500 foot-pounds of torque will not move the cradle settings against the worm and gear. This is a major safety feature that prevents accidental personnel injury due to off-balance and heavy loads. Payloads up to 700 pounds are handled with accuracy and positive control in both azimuth and elevation axes.
